Why Pest Control Must Be Performed By Pointe Pest Control Professionals
Many residents suspect there are rodents lurking inside their walls and attics, but can't confirm their suspicions since the animals aren't visible. Instead of hoping that their fears don't come true or that the cat takes care of the issue, homeowners should go on the hunt for clues of a rodent infestation.
Pointe Pest Control in West Hills
and other neighborhoods across Southern California describes four clear signs
that of a rodent problem. Thankfully, there's no need to knock down walls or
crawl beneath the house, because these signs are easy to spot.
1. Holes in food packages.
Rodents are ravenous creatures, so no cardboard box or bag is going to prevent
them from enjoying in a delicious meal. Homeowners commonly discover tiny holes
bitten in the bottom of packages containing foods like cookies, cereal and dog
treats. Search pantry shelves and examine the packaging to make sure there
aren't any holes. If bite marks are present, rodents are the likely culprit.
2. Odd sounds. If the
family pet seems to be a little spooked, or if there are odd noises resonating
from the ceiling or walls, rodent control is likely called for. Don't wait for
rats or mice to make an entry into the home or die and begin to rot. Contact Pointe
Pest Control if you hear any suspicious pitter-pattering or scratching.
3. Faces. This clue is an
obvious one, but homeowners often mistake rodent excrement for the feces of
another animal, such as a bird. If the droppings in question is about 1/16th of
an inch, formed like pellets with a pointed end, and are in abundance, it's
likely mouse feces. Rat droppings are about 1/4th of an inch and look very
similar. Rodents have almost no control over their bowel movements, so their faces
tend to be in excess and form a trail. Be on the lookout for rodent excrement
in pantry shelves, porches, and cabinets.
4. Debris or dirt in strange
places. When traveling in the interior of a home or basement, rodents
usually migrate in an obvious, repeated traffic pattern. When hunting for a
mice or rat trail, search for dirt on the walls or planks in an unfinished
basement ceiling. Also, when rodents burrow their way into a home, they remove
whatever is necessary to climb inside. If there are pieces of wood, insulation
or drywall conspicuously lying on the ground, a rodent may be to blame.
Homeowners who see any of these
signs should promptly contact the mice and rat removal experts at Pointe Pest Control. Not only
are rodents unsightly, but they harbor disease, ticks and fleas, and ticks that
could harm the residents of the home.
Pointe's exterminators provide
two levels of rodent control service. Their one-week program is a streamlined
approach to removing nuisance animals. Traps are placed at the first visit,
followed by two additional visits to dispose of the dead rodents. Pointe's one-month program includes trapping and four follow-up visits to remove caught nuisance
animals. Pointe also identifies how the rodent entered and supplies a free
estimate with both programs.
